T1 - Smart electronic materials for sustainable future

Smart materials are dynamic in nature and have the ability to perform both sensing and actuating functions. They are used in devices that are driving advances in modern information technology and have applications in electronics, optoelectronics, sensors, memories and other areas. It has special functionalities such as self-healing, controlled degradation, self-sensing, photo-active, chromo-active etc. This theme will consist of research related to cutting edge advancement research in the field of smart materials and their applications in various fields.

T2 - Emerging trends & future aspects of microelectronics & optoelectronics

The emergence of, and progress in, microelectronics and optoelectronics have revolutionized the trends and future aspects of modern devices. The development of electronic and optoelectronic materials is capable to deal with upcoming challenges related to low-power consumption, energy harvesting, efficient conversion between electrical and optical signals, sensing, or high-speed electrical and optical signal processing etc. This theme will consist of the theory, design, technology, and applications of novel materials in the field of micro and opto-electronics.

T3 - Future aspects of emerging technologies with 5G, Al and loT

Developments in 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT technologies are leading towards what is being hyped as the era of intelligent connectivity. Intelligent connectivity is the combination of high-speed, low-latency 5G networks, cutting-edge AI, and the linking of billions of devices through the IoT. The combination of these revolutionary and disruptive technologies will enable transformational new capabilities in transport, entertainment, industry, and public services. There are huge uncertainties and challenges that need to be addressed before the benefits can be realized. This theme will include all topics related to interconnection between people and the technological environment surrounding them.

T4 - Renewable energy & Storage devices

The energy which comes from natural sources or processes that are constantly replenished are known as renewable or clean energy. Renewable energy such as solar energy, wind energy, geothermal, biomass energy etc can prevent climate change. The success of renewable energy depends on efficient storage devices. Electrochemical energy storages like batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells have been a leading solution for electrified/green transportation, renewable power grid, consumer electronics, etc. by taking care of the intermittency problem of renewable power sources. This theme consists of the topics related to renewable energy and storage systems.

T5 - Green technologies & its applications

From wind, solar, hydro power and electric vehicles to environmental monitoring, green technology appears in a vast range of initiatives today aimed at a more sustainable world. We have now emerging technologies for reducing emissions for implementation, including wind power, improved solar cells, and electric vehicles, we still need to deal with the issue of technology transfer as the developing countries produce majority of the world’s pollution, particularly CO2 and other greenhouse gases. This theme will discuss the various green technologies for the sustainable environment with optimal yield and utility.
